Just to get some more idea out there, I have some screenies of how profiles look in City of Villains/City of Heroes. To view a person's profile, you right click them and a window pops up with options like: whisper, invite to team, invite to super group(guild), and info(the profile). The profile itself has tabs for their backstory, badges (this would basically equate to titles in GW), and pvp (this would basically show total balthazar faction and fame).
I don't have an active time card for CoV atm as I've come back to GW for a while. So I'll have to use screenshots I happen to already have on file.
Unfortunately the only screenshot I have of a profile was one I took because this one was sooo awful. Guess this will illustrate just how bad they can be.
lol

Here's the badge screen:

I do have to say that i like the idea, its something that adds more originality to the game, gives you more customization options, which is always a good thing. Somethin i would like to add though, is that once the profile is open, there could be an optional second tab with more account wide profile type things. say total balth/kurz/lux faction earned, other character names, maybe guild rank/rating. I dont really think that we want to get incredibly personal, seeing as how there are those that would take advantage of having others personal information.
to conclude,

I think that this is a marvelous idea, so long as it can't be "hacked" in some way as to put foreign material into the profile pages. However, I think it would be good if right-clicking on someone's name to bring up this profile thingie also applied to the names in your Friends menu. Heavens knows I might not have deleted some people from it had I been able to refresh my memory with more information as to who in the world they were...

Not that its going to change my opinion on this, but I just thought of a negative, people could link to gold buying auctions / porn etc in their profile, and it may be seen less by peopel that know how to report. Just a thought on it :S

I thought of this myself a while back. It doesn't even have to have a biography part if that's too much work, it can just show the information on the hero screen, and maybe /deaths, /age, etc, because Guild Wars already has all this information, it would just be showing it to other people.

Character Profiles
This is just an idea i have people work to get all there titles, EXP and Skills exc... but only one title can be displayed at a time!
Was thinking about a "Character Profile" window you can open for each other Player. with a Bio, you can look at there titles, Xp the number of normal skill they have unlocked, Guild Details, Character Age, Number of Kills, Number of Bosses Killed, and/or any other things that people would be intrested to look at.
Just an idea think it would be quite cool.... plz feel free to give your opnions

I like that idea. It reminds me of Ultima Online, and how they had a profile that you could type in whatever you wanted. I don't much like the idea of them being able to see everything like titles, EXP, age, ect...but that's just me =^_^= But, I do think a little page we could write something down in would be nice. Other games have it, and it actually came in handy for selling, trading, or advertizing too.

This has been suggested before; I think the best example of a character profile would be CoH/CoV
